The Feisty Fieldfare

I think I am a bit OCD with photography as Christmas day I could not resist a few images of a Fieldfare in the garden. These feisty little thrushes defend every bit of food they find. They love apples and defended them against all other incomers.

  1. Hi Sam, I hope you all had a good Christmas.
Great shots of the Fieldfares, their blue-grey head and nape make it a beautiful bird. I spent Christmas day at Stithians photographing Goldcrests and Redwings feeding near the boardwalk area. A flock of 30-40 Fieldfare flew overhead in loose formation but landed on the other side of the lake out of reach for photos.
    Have a Happy New Year!
