Skylark

Whilst walking to the Black Winged Stilt this Skylark caught my eye and I couldn't resist a quick burst of shots at this amazing bird.

The Black Winged Stilts only stayed a day, the featture of this species are undoubtedly its legs, but I do like head shots so I have excessively cropped some images for this post.

Black Winged Stilt

Attention was drawn today to St Gothian Sands, Gwithian when four stunning Black Winged Stilts were found by Paul Freestone et al http://www.cornwall-birding.co.uk/ , what a find. Buffeted by the wind and harsh light everyone snapped away hoping for that perfect shot.

American Golden Plover

I photographed the American Golden Plover at Hayle today, although it was distant I enjoyed capturing the images of the Plover feeding with a summer plumaged Bar Tailed Godwit.
