Eastern Green

I went to Eastern Green hoping for some Sandwich Tern shots, I captured some average shots of the Terns but a couple of Bar Tailed Godwits allowed me into their world.

Red Kite Over The Garden

I spent a good part of Good Friday lounging and lunching in the garden, the weather was superb. With one eye on the sky and one on my grandson I clocked this Red Kite soaring in from the South East. I grabbed the camera and got of a few shots as it flew directly over the garden. Red Kite is a good garden tick for us in the far west of Cornwall. This one is my third.

Spring In The Air

At last the jet stream has pushed of up North and we finally have high pressure and good weather, with the back finally on the mend, on Saturday I had a trip with big lens. I missed out on the gull festival at Marazion and hoped to catch up with some of our overwintering birds before the followed the jet stream to their breeding grounds. Marazion drew a blank but Battery Rocks, in Penzance gave up a Great Northern Diver, Male Eider Duck and Purple Sandpiper.

Storm Force Sennen

With another storm heading into Cornwall this weekend Lisa and I went out storm chasing, The first location was Cape Cornwall and the second was Sennen. Here are a few from Sennen.
The camera angle was not to my liking, but if I got down to the level of the Purple Sandpipers I would have been up to my neck in more than just sea water.
