Garden Shots

One of my Christmas presents was two bird feeders in the form of a poppy. I thought the birds would take a while to feed from them, but they were straight on them. Again high ISO settings in dull light.

Spoonbills

I went to Hayle Estuary today and come across one of the two Spoonbills spending the Autumn at Hayle. A dark and dismal day with a troublesome wind, high ISO's and low shutter speeds made life difficult for the flight shots.

Three Images From The Garden

Its been ages since I posted images but here are two Autumn/winter visitors to my garden.a Coal Tit and a female Blackcap.

I saw behaviour, I have never seen from the Coal Tit, I observed him storing away sunflower seeds in different locations within the garden.

Roe Deer

I took this shot and about 350 others at Marazion last night, I think the Autumn rut is under way, as this young buck was chased by an older stag to within 10 metre's from me,  at one point I could not focus on it due to its close proximity.

Sub Adult Pom

I took this shot on the 27 of July, the same day as the Manx Shearwater it took a while to ID this but with a little help from a friend it turned out to be a sub-adult Pomarine Skua.

Ryan's Field

A couple of hours at Ryan's Field looking for early returning Waders, I managed a shot of one of two common sandpiper's and a Reed Warbler feeding a couple of fledgling's, this captivated me for half an hour as my usual views of Reed Warbler's were fleeting.

A few shots From West Cornwall

I have been lazy with the blog lately, so here are a few images recently taken with a bit of diversity from the usual. We have had some stunning sunsets, and the surf's up for a few surfing shots.

Here are a few shots from Drift and one from the garden. The Juvenile house sparrows fledged a couple of weeks ago in the garden. The great Crested Grebes are one of two pairs who bred at Drift along with the Juv Long Tailed Tit and Canada Goslings.

Screaming Swift At Drift

Today, I tried once more hoping to capture a reasonable shot of the Purple Heron at Drift, no luck with that, but I managed a few shots of Swift screaming and feeding on site.

Nanquidno Valley

I was looking for the Woodchat Shrike but as usual I was sidetracked by the more common Barn Swallow and Buzzard.

Breeding Time is here.

Looks like Wheatears are breeding on patch, I really enjoyed photographing these two, but I will stay away now and let them do their thing.  The male Stonechats are stunning this time of year, one of my favourite local species any time of year.
