Rambling Lanes

I have been rambling around my local lanes very close to my house and it is surprising what you find.

Soldier Beetles
Red Admiral feeding on bramble
Ringlet, what seemed like hundreds in a meadow.
 Red Admirel, very powerful flyers
 Emperor Dragonfly ( I hope)
Identification aids, if I got it wrong above, blame it on the becks.

Beautful Demoiselle

I have been looking for the Beautiful Demoiselle Damselfly around our local river in Tregeseal for two years, what used to be a common species seemed to have disappeared. Last year, the weather was so poor, with flooding scouring the river bed ,and low temperatures I had my doubts whether I would see them again locally. However yesterday I noticed a male guarding territory, so I entered the river to photograph it, a female arrived on the scene and they immediately went into their mating ritual .

Pendeen Butterflies

With the report of high numbers of Silver Studded Blue butterflies, I went to a location at Pendeen ,not far from where I photograph seabirds to capture images of this superb little butterfly.
